Access Statement

Introduction

Located in the beautiful Wyre Forest countryside our Bunkhouse accredited accommodation sleeps up to 15 people. It is fully equipped for self-catering and all ground floor areas (includes some bedrooms) are on one level. The following statement is a summary of our facilities. Please call us with any specific questions you have about access, we'll do our very best to help

Pre-Arrival

• Nearest public transport points are the town of Bewdley (1 mile) for buses or Kidderminster (4 miles) trains
• Bewdley is the nearest town one mile away offering a good selection of shops

• Guests should discuss any mobility or other access issues they may have with management to determine suitability

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• A gravel car park is located immediately adjacent to the barn, it is lit by a sensor at night
• Telephone numbers are displayed should assistance be required
• Coaches can be accommodated with advance notice

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

• Four steps lead off the car park on to a decked veranda from where level access leads into the barn
• Level access straight into the building is available from the farmyard (parking is possible in this area)
• Seating is available in the lobby

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

• The barn is on two levels - The ground floor is level throughout with travertine floor tiles. Wheel chairs can access all ground floor areas
• Two carpeted staircases with handrails both have steps and lead to the first floor areas
• Good colour contrast throughout
• Well lit throughout

Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

• The lounge is accessed through a fire door from the kitchen
• A range of soft and padded seating is available
• Dining room is located immediately off the kitchen
• Tables and chairs can be moved for the most appropriate seating arrangement

Outdoor Facilities

• A covered area of decking leads immediately out from the main entrance. Railings high protect two sides
• Four steps with handrail lead down onto level paved patio area
• Small slightly sloping lawned area leads off the patio back to the car park
• BBQ is located on the patio
• Ample tables and chairs are provided and can be moved according to individual needs

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas

• Barn Owl Bunk - Ground floor, level access. Two single beds and two bunk beds, sleeps six people. WC opposite, showers on 1st floor
• Cuckoo's Nest - Ground floor, level access, twin/double en-suite with wheelchair access
• Rookery Roost - 1st floor, access staircase steps with handrail. Two single/double bed(zip & link) and one bunk bed (single on top double below). Toilet and shower located off same landing
• Pigeon's Perch - 1st floor access staircase steps with handrail. One single bed and one bunk bed (single on top double below). Toilet and shower facilities located off same landing

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

• WC located off the lobby (immediately right when entering the barn)
• Further toilets located on each of the two 1st floor landings, with non slip laminate flooring
• Showers also located on both 1st floor landings, with non slip laminate flooring
• En-suite wetroom facility for Cuckoo's Nest

Self-Catering Kitchen

• The kitchen is located in the heart of the barn with level access from both the lounge and dining room
• Fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and all essential utensils
• Washing machine and tumble dryer also located in kitchen

Additional Information

• Emergency evacuation procedures are posted in all bedrooms and by fire escape doors
• Fire assembley point is in the farmyard
• Emergency lighting and fire alarms are fitted
• No smoking within the barn
• No pets or dogs (service dogs are welcome)
